North African musicians are proving to be amongst world music's most exciting pioneers: Khaled's pop-rai synthesis has made the Algerian Elvis a superstar while London-based Moroccans, MoMo, blend gnawa music with storming dance beats. DuOud are the latest North African sensation to prove that tradition and technology can mix and match to create a sound full of possibilities. DuOud consist of two oud-playing Parisians who combine their North African heritage with the latest in Western technology.

Djinn

There are at least four artists with this name:
1) Djinn is an Italian depressive-industrial-ambient act formed in 1999 by Alex Vintras. His music combines the atmospheric layers and reverberations prominent in dark ambient music, and combines it with the experimentation and rhythmic qualities of second-wave industrial music. His work is known to commonly use samples from multiple sources, be it field recordings of Gregorian chants, audio clips from famous films, or even snippets of classical compositions.

Titi Robin

TITI ROBIN plays mediterranean music of his own.... Gypsy, Mediterranean and Balkan cultures are always clearly present in Titi Robin's music. Both on his records and on stage, Gypsies and Payos, the French and Spanish, Indians, Iranians and Arabs have agreed to dialogue and it is this reconstructed tribe, a genuine arborescence of musicians met over time, that we find around Titi Robin. He plays essentially his own compositions with an important part of improvisation.

Najma Akhtar

Najma Akhtar (born 18 September 1962, Chelmsford, Essex), also known as Najma, is an English pop singer of South Asian ancestry. Her distinctive style ranges from fusions of jazz and Indian ghazal, doing updated arrangements of these ghazals (love songs and spiritual songs), along with traditional bhajans and the occasional Bollywood hit.

Tim Berne

Tim Berne (born 1954) is an American jazz saxophone player and composer. Though Berne was a music fan, he had no interest in playing a musical instrument until he was in college, when he purchased an alto saxophone. He was more interested in rhythm and blues music--Stax records releases and Aretha Franklin, especially--until he heard a recording by Julius Hemphill. Hemphill was known for his integration of soul music and funk with free jazz. Berne moved to New York City in 1974. There Berne took lessons from Hemphill, and later recorded with him.

Bomba

Their infectious sound and engaging live show has been recruiting Bomba lovers around the country for the last four years. This Melbourne based, five piece, funky reggae act first landed on the Australian scene as a way to play mutually loved music. After having played for a couple of years, the band's first full length release was the album Population which proved to be a winner with radio and Bomba fans alike.

He studied in cathedral school in mumbai and later on graduated from Elphinstone college.
he resides in Napeansea Road..He also has collection of percussion instruments from around the world
He has played with Louis Banks -- the master in jazz piano and a composer.
Ranjit has played in many jazz yatras..
A talent scout from Paiste, a Swiss company that manufactures cymbals,
heard Ranjit performing at the Zurich Jazz Festival and offered him a contract.
