There are at least two bands who go by the name Zero Hour. 1. Zero Hour is a progressive metal band formed by twin brothers Jasun and Troy Tipton in the bay area of San Francisco, California in 1993. 2. Dark, heavy crust/metal band also from the Bay Area, in the vein of Amebix, Deviated Instinct, and Neurosis. Short lived,with two releases (self titled 7" and a split with Apeface), and not much known about the band itself. The band featured the drummer of Econochrist.

Vildhjarta is a thall metal band from Hudiksvall, Sweden, formed in 2005. Their musical genre as described by themselves is "ambidjent". It has taken them a few years to go from something abstract into something concrete. However, their music is a mixture of the abstract and the concrete. The ambient and peaceful moments find a stark contrast in the more brutal and dark music that combined contribute to the comprehensive style of Vildhjarta.

The band draws influences from other progressive acts such as Cynic and Dream Theater. However, unlike most other progressive metal bands, they have no vocalist and play solely instrumental music. In 2004, Guitarists Chris Letchford and Travis Levrier moved to Los Angeles to attend the Musicians Institute where they met drummer Pat Skeffington.
