Sophia

There is more than one artist with this name: 1) Indie band Sophia includes The Flower Shop Recordings mainman and former The God Machine singer/guitarist Robin Proper-Sheppard. After the sudden and tragic death of schoolfriend and God Machine bassist Jimmy Fernandez, Proper-Sheppard began searching for a new musical outlet. Together with friends and fellow musicians from other Flower Shop bands Elevate, Ligament and Oil Seed Rape, Proper-Sheppard began working on the music that would become known as Sophia.

Signed to the US label Words On Music. 2) A female rapper and reggaeton artist from Panama 3) A Konkani language playback singer from Goa, India 1) Lorna was originally formed as a studio project in 1997 by Nottingham, England songwriter Mark Rolfe, gradually expanding over the years to a quartet.

Up from the warm, almost oppressively humid Texas air rises a din. The sound is created by only three people. For now, we’ll just call them D.H., Nikki and Slim. The music that they are creating might be the aural equivalent of walking down a farm-to-market road on a foggy morning just before day breaks.

The clamor began in November 2007 when these three humans came together to form True Widow.

There is more than one artists by the name of SIR: 1. Formerly a husband/wife duo (divorced during the production of "Trapped in a World of Make Believe") from Melbourne, Australia, Sir specializes in minimal, down-tempo, haunting pop/folk that, at its roots, is certainly more creepy than catchy. The music is cinematic & dreamy with a strong sense of unease. The arrangements generally include church organs, lonesome guitars, and vintage, dusty ambience. 2. Sir is a queercore band from Philadelphia, PA. Sir is fronted by Jesse Adams on vocals and trumpet.

Go Sailor

Go Sailor was a short-lived Berkeley based twee pop band. Its members included Rose Melberg of Tiger Trap and The Softies (guitar, vocals), Paul Curran of Crimpshrine (bass) and Amy Linton of Henry's Dress (drums). They recorded three 7" singles and a full-length CD on Lookout! Records in 1996, the latter of which collected the singles tracks and two compilation appearances. After their breakup their songs "Ray of Sunshine" and "Together Forever in Love" were included on the soundtrack to the movie But I'm a Cheerleader.

Mark Kozelek

Mark Kozelek (born 1967 in Massillion, Ohio) is an American singer-songwriter and frontman of Sun Kil Moon and Red House Painters. Originally a lynchpin of the slowcore movement in alternative rock with Red House Painters, Kozelek's harrowing autobiographical lyrics gave unflinchingly detailed accounts of pain, despair and loss while the lengthy accompanying music was slow, intense, dissonant and bleak.

Empress

Hailing from Leeds (Northern England) Empress consist of Nicola Hodgkins of Hood, The Remote Viewer and Boyracer and Christopher Coyle of Halkyn. After releasing an EP and Album for Pehr they jumped to Stephen Pastels label Geographic after touring with The Pastels and put out the self-titled album Empress. Their latest album The Sound They Made was composed in between train rides with Chris traveling from Wales to Leeds throughout a year and released back on Pehr in 2003.
