Faceplant

FACE PLANT BIO Hailing from the depths of Houston's Southside, FacePlant has begun to explode in the local music scene. Originally performing under the name 'Sucker Punch', they began rocking crowds in early 1995 and quickly established a faithful following. This six man band has put together a CD entitled “Get Some”, consisting of ten of the band's most popular songs. Labeled by local press as 'hip hop, harmonizing, phunk-n-roll mobsters', FacePlant has established a sound all of it's own.

Cone

CONE was founded by the Dutch Hermann Blaupunkt, guitarplayer in Het Droste Effect, former guitar player for stoner rock outfit Lupu Negru and owner of Studio Casa Cassette. The guitar and other string instruments will always be important in CONE output. Freaky folk parts blend with field recordings suddenly ripped apart by a fuzzy guitarsolo or a subtle noise passage. Apart from the guitars, there’s toy instruments, voices, effect boxes, organs, field recordings from all over the globe and other stuff.

Flower-Corsano Duo

Debut release for this powerhouse hook-up between Mick Flower of Vibracathedral Orchestra and free drummer Chris Corsano. Flower plays a Japan Banjo here, an instrument that’s somewhere between a lap steel and a sitar, with swallowing drones giving way to shredding single note lead work while Corsano speed-thinks his way out of his own skin. Last time I saw these guys play I heard some stunned punter compare em to a fantasy John Cippolina/Andrew Cyrille duo and that isn’t a million miles from the mark.
