Call Back the Giants

Keyboard/electronics player for the Shadow Ring, Tim Goss. If I'd've had to guess what post-Shadow projects would sound like, it wouldn't be what Lambkin's actually done, but more like this. Goss frumps about on some synths & intones doom-filled words in a spectacularly cheerless, beetle-browed accent. There's even a dreary-minded lady assistant who reads a few lines. Recorded slightly hot & then turned way down, to give it just a dash of overdriven edge. Lots of leslie-speaker purr, bells, & quiet beeps underline the mounds of hopelessness.

Walk Through Fire

"If you're going to try, go all the way. Otherwise, don't even start. This could mean losing girlfriends, wives, relatives and maybe even your mind. It could mean not eating for three or four days. It could mean freezing on a park bench. It could mean jail. It could mean derision. It could mean mockery--isolation. Isolation is the gift. All the others are a test of your endurance, of how much you really want to do it. And, you'll do it, despite rejection and the worst odds. And it will be better than anything else you can imagine.

Slomo

"If the doom metal of Khanate is the ideal soundtrack to the 21st Century Odinists' hanging upon the tree of Yggdrasil, then the vegetal music of Slomo is the unfolding, nurturing, ever-becoming ur-ooze that titanically irrigates the roots of that sacred tree." JULIAN COPE
