Hella

Hella began in 2001 in Sacramento, California as a two member band consisting of Zach Hill and Spencer Seim writing technically intricate music of a highly spastic nature. They play a blend of math rock and noise rock. On early albums, the band forged their classic sound, playing minimally arranged, abrasive instrumentals that still retain an idiosyncratic sense of melody. In 2005, the band expanded their live band by adding Dan Elkan on vocals, rhythm guitar, and synth and Jonathan Hischke on bass guitar.

yellow6

Yellow6 has at times been described as post-rock, space-rock, electronica, shoegaze, ambient… the reality is that Yellow6 has some similarity with each of those genres but is not so easily definable, using aspects of drone, repetition, melody, harmony, noise and silence to create absorbing soundscapes to drift off into. Yellow6 was created out of necessity in the mid-90’s, the necessity to make guitar music not confined to rock song structures, and the necessity of circumstance to be a solo artist.

NED

NED was found in a junkyard close to Lyon, France in 1998. From the early noisepunk, the trio opened to more diverse influences. Mixing now the former soup with swampy blues, cracky rythms, brutal anti-music, concepts, with always a taste for catchy melodies. After several albums, and splits with DOPPLER and OHARU, NED released its new album, "Rien, Merci".

The Montgolfier Brothers

The Montgolfier Brothers are Mark Tranmer and Roger Quigley; Tranmer writes and performs much of the duo's music, while Quigley writes the lyrics and provides their vocals. Both artists have released numerous solo projects on their own, and collaborated with other artists, in addition to recording together as the Montgolfier Brothers. Tranmer -- who is based in Manchester, England -- has recorded under name Gnac (taken from a short story by Italian writer Italo Calvino) in 1996, recording singles for the Earworm and Liquefaction labels.
