Since the late 80's Krafty Kuts, a.k.a Martin Reeves, has been one of the world's best-known purveyors of breakbeats and old-skool hip-hop. Hailing from Brighton, he moved from running a record shop to running around the world as he DJs internationally while producing a vast number of mixed albums and original material, including "Freakshow", released on his label Against The Grain. Badlands

There are several bands having gone by the name "Badlands", the most famous being the late '80s hard rock band formed by former Black Sabbath vocalist Ray Gillen. Badlands was a short-lived rock band founded by Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Jake E. Lee and Black Sabbath members Ray Gillen and Eric Singer. Badlands also featured bassist Greg Chaisson. After the first Badlands album, Eric Singer was replaced by Jeff Martin. Eric Singer later played drums on the Greg Chaisson solo album It’s About Time.

Nice & Smooth

Nice & Smooth is an underground East Coast rap duo from New York, composed of Greg Nice (Greg Mays) and Smooth B (Daryl Barnes). Together, they made several albums in the late 1980s and early 1990s to little popular appeal, though their second album (Ain't a Damn Thing Changed, 1991) was a commercial success that included a minor hit in "Sometimes I Rhyme Slow". "Hip-Hop Junkies", which featured a sample from The Partridge Family's "I Think I Love You" was also a hit, and once performed live on Keenan Ivory Wayans "In Living Color".

Vlad Sokolov

DJ, Producer, record label owner and radio presenter - this man works hard! Vlad released eight 12"s in 2005 on various labels, including remixes for Smithmonger, Nitro and one of the biggest tunes of the year Diverted's Tholid on TCR - big enough to open Radio 1's Glasto broadcast. Vlad is also known as one third of Breakneck - originally TCR artists as well as one half of Vlad & Ardisson and also co-owner of LondonBreakz.

Freeland

Adam Freeland is a UK-based DJ and producer specialising in nu skool breaks. Like his record label, Marine Parade, he is a resident of Brighton. As a producer, he formed half of Tsunami One with Kevin Beber, and released a solo album as Freeland; as a DJ he operates solo under his own full name. In 1996 'Coastal Breaks' heralded the beginning of something new - BREAKBEAT. Nights such as Friction outgrew their underground roots to deservedly take their place in the industry's limelight with pioneers like Adam pushing the barriers and selling the sound.
