When ambitious young record store manager Oli Lazarus initiated his Reel People project back in 2000 he could only have dreamt of where those first tentative steps would lead him. Having immersed himself in the soulful house sounds of specialist record store Flying for the previous three years, Oli Lazurus had begun to feel that the musical education he had gained in-store was complete and that his tenure atthe shop was drawing to a natural end.

Paul Randolph

Born in Philadelphia, Randolph began his musical journey in Sao Paolo, Brasil at age six where his father, also a musician, was living and working as an engineer. He spent his teenage years in Detroit where his ability to play a wide-range of music from jazz to funk to folk and all points in between lead to Paul sitting in on sessions with artists as varied and esteemed as P-Funk, War, Brian Setzer and Buddy Guy.

Working on their debut album which blends grand, romantic and dark songs with unique textures such as chinese violins and koto harps. In the meantime, the band has opened for The Big Pink, Florence and The Machine, The Drums, and Nine Inch Nails and they have recently composed the score to the Harmony Korine + James Franco film "Rebel"

Missy Higgins (born Melissa Morrison Higgins on August 19, 1983, in Melbourne, Australia) is one of Australia's most popular female singer-songwriters. Missy (Melissa) was thrust into the limelight in her homeland when her sister entered Missy into a competition, which she won. The competition was conducted by the national alternative broadcaster, Triple J. Although she was still in high school, her song All For Believing quickly became one of the station's most requested tracks of 2001.
