Mark Turner

Mark Turner was born on November 10, 1965 in Fairborn, Ohio. He grew up on the West Coast, spent time in Boston and New Orleans, and moved to New York City in the Mid-1990's. He has been a frequent partner with Kurt Rosenwinkel for over a decade. The collective Fly with Jeff Ballard and Larry Grenadier is has been touring and performing since 2002.

Jeff Lorber

Jeff Lorber (born November 4, 1952 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American Grammy Award-nominated keyboardist, composer, and record producer. After leading his own group, The Jeff Lorber Fusion, he went on to pioneer the smooth jazz genre in his solo career. Many of his songs were featured on The Weather Channel's "Local On The 8s" segments. Lorber started to play the piano when he was four years old and after playing in a number of R&B bands as a teen, went on to attend Berklee College of Music, where he developed his love for jazz.

Arild Andersen

Arild Andersen (born October 27, 1945) is a Norwegian bass player. He started out as a member of the Jan Garbarek Quartet (1967-1973), with Terje Rypdal and Jon Christensen. In the same period he also worked with the Norwegian singer Karin Krog and played in the rhythm section for visiting American musicians including Phil Woods, Dexter Gordon, Hampton Hawes, Johnny Griffin, Sonny Rollins, and Chick Corea. During this time, he also worked with Don Cherry and George Russell. Andersen has recorded over a dozen albums for ECM Records as band leader, and appeared on many others as side man.

Billy Cobham

Billy Cobham, born May 16, 1944 in Panama, is one of the world's most influential drummers, best known for his jazz fusion in the 1970s, with John McLaughlin's Mahavishnu Orchestra, where he pioneered a powerful style of drumming with jazz, rock and funk influences. He is the first drummer to unseat Buddy Rich in the Down Beat music polls. Cobham has played and recorded with hundreds of top musicians, including Miles Davis, Freddie Hubbard, Larry Coryell, and Horace Silver; and is famous for his explosive, fast, spectacular playing.

Branford Marsalis

Branford Marsalis (born August 26, 1960, Beaux Bridge, Louisiana) is an American . Branford studied with Alvin Batiste at Baton Rouge's Southern University in 1978, completing his studies at Berklee School of Music, between '79 & '81. He began his professional career in the early 1980s playing with Art Blakey's big band (playing baritone), Clark Terry's band, and Blakey's Jazz Messengers.

Ivo Perelman

Ivo Perelman is free jazz saxophonist born in São Paulo, Brazil on January 12, 1961. Perelman learned to play guitar, cello, clarinet, trombone, and piano while young, and concentrated on tenor sax from age 19. He attended the Berklee College of Music for one semester and then dropped out, moving to Los Angeles in 1986. Perelman released his first album in 1989, which featured Peter Erskine, John Patitucci, Airto Moreira, Elaine Elias, and Flora Purim as guests.

Sleepwalker

There are different artists using the name 'Sleepwalker': 1) Atmospheric Black Metal/Post-Rock. Very little is known about this band, but it is the solo project of the drummer of Fell Voices and has two CD-R demos, each with three untitled tracks. Sleepwalker is working on new material as of May 15th, 2011, and the first demo was remastered and re-released on LP by Vedavu in 2012 (this time with song titles: "Born of Dream", "Sleepwalker", and "Ecstatic Unknown").

Born and raised in Baltimore, MD, Maysa discovered that she wanted to be a musician at six when her parents took her to see the musical Purlie. She recalls, “The moment Melba Moore took the stage an opened her mouth I made my decision that music would be my fate.” A graduate of Morgan State University with a degree in classical performance, Maysa met Stevie Wonder while still a senior in college.
