Artist Type:

Asta

ASTA is the winner of Triple J's 2012 Unearthed High competition.
I sing, I write, I hum, I tap. I pretty much love all genres of music.
Song writing is a huge part of my life as it releases so much emotion and is actually so fun to do. I love it when the audience feels like a big wide ocean, and they're peacefully sitting there in silence. I love making people feel emotion through song and taking them with me through the journey. I enjoy taking on other peoples stories and creating something universal that other’s can relate to. I hope you get a kick out of my music the way I do !

Artist Type:

The Shapes

There is more than one artist with this name: 1. The original The Shapes released their "Part Of The Furniture" EP in 1979, which contained such memorable tracks as "Wot's For Lunch, Mum? (Not Beans Again)" and "(I Saw) Batman (In The Launderette)". They recorded a session for John Peel's BBC Radio One show, and played gigs supporting The Killjoys, The Cure and The Fall.
After releasing their second single "Airline Disaster" b/w "Blast Off!" on Terri Hooley's Belfast-based label Good Vibrations, they self-imploded.

Artist Type:

Abi Lanigan

After four years of touring the UK supporting the likes of Newton Faulkner, Nizlopi, Narina Pallot, Polly Paulusma, Mr hudson in the library, Abi Lanigan has reached a defining point in her life. Think melodies and vibe of KT Tunstall, but with the quirkiness of Imogen Heap or Regina Spektor, maybe a touch of Avril Lavigne for good measure and you're somewhere close to a portrait of the twenty year old singer-songwriter from the UK.

Artist Type:

Martha Rose

Martha Rose got a guitar in January 2007, wrapped up in Newspaper. She taught herself to play and wrote some songs, and then she met a banjo player called Ben. Martha sings about love, loss, sadness and beauty, and anything else that catches her eye. x www.myspace.com/martharosemusic

Artist Type:

The Bittersweets

1) It is not every day that a band has airplay on one of the nation's most influential AAA radio stations before they have even played a live show . Equally rare is being asked to open for a Grammy Award-winning multi-platinum band at a legendary venue before even releasing a full-length debut . Having a former member of another multi-platinum band jump on board after hearing some demos is pretty much unheard of.
