There are two bands with the name Hinterland - a now defunct Irish duo who split up in the early 1990s, and a Canadian band which formed in the 2000s.
1) Since forming at the turn of the millennium, Hinterland has sought to stake out its own patch of sonic turf somewhere near the intersection of wall-of-guitars rock and whisper-soft ambience. Fronted by Michaela Galloway’s otherworldly vocals, the Vancouver band has earned its share of superlatives, with critics describing its music as "evocative", "atmospheric", and "irresistible".

Years ago they were in a band called this dumb desire, which burnt out, but was always cool.
In 2010 Ashley and James got together one cold wet winter afternoon in Nottingham for a music session. They weren't sure what would happen, but what transpired led to a song and a distinctive sound. Magic Mountain was born. Facebook Page:

The Darling Ranges lie about 35 km's south of Perth, Western Australia. The drive is mostly highway, fairly droll until you start actually ascending the hills themselves, at which point great dips and troughs reveal themselves and the whole region takes on a strange arid quality. The area was on fire for about 4 days in early 2011. Joe Mckee grew up in these hills and, after 4 years under the spell of Lon...don, he returned to them. Burning Boy is his debut album.
1) Loop was a South London band founded in 1986 by Robert Hampson and his then wife, Bex. Loop's sound was characterized by strong krautrock and avant-garde influences in addition to the minimalist mayhem of The Stooges and MC5. Their songs were almost uniformly harsh and repetitive, with indecipherable vocals buried under layers of noisy guitar riffs and metronomic drumming. Some of the records featured covers of Suicide, The Pop Group and Can as bonus tracks.
There are at least 3 groups named Majestic 12. 1) A Wu-Tang Clan affiliated R&B group consisting of producer C12 (real name Carlos Bess, who has produced for Ghostface Killah and Shabazz The Disciple) and his wife Madam Majestic who has made appearances on various Wu-Tang Clan projects. They released their debut album For Majic Eyes Only in 2006. 2) Czech electronic music duo composed of Tom
Guitarist/songwriter James McKeown. Born, Bristol 1976. James McKeown is the guitarist in Bristol based luminaries Hi-Fiction Science. Whilst their music is based around a unique blend of Krautrock, Folk, Post-Punk and Electronic influences, James' music at this stage could be best described as an introspective journey into quintessentially English melancholic dreampop.
"a dreamy, head spinning blast of fuzzed-out bliss, like my bloody valentine on minimal budget but some idiots left big black's drum machine pummelling away in the background. totally damaged and beautiful, big troubles grab the reverbed-out U.S. underground and rip it a new one. gotta be heard to be understood."
