Carter Tutti is the duo of Chris Carter and Cosey Fanni Tutti, both members of Throbbing Gristle, who have also gone by Chris & Cosey and CTI. The pair has adopted this new name for live performances and their most recent albums Cabal (2004) and Feral Vapours of the Silver Ether (2007).
Rovo is a psychedelic rock-jazz band founded in 1996 in Tokyo by former Boredoms guitarist Seiichi Yamamoto (山本精一), electric violinist Yuji Katsui (勝井祐二), and synthesizer/effects technician Tatsuki Masuko (益子樹), with Jin Harada (原田仁) on bass guitar, Hiroshi Nakanishi (中西宏司) on synths, and featuring two drummers/percussionists, the prolific Yasuhiro Yoshigaki (芳垣安洋) (of legendary improv noise group Ground-Zero) and Yoichi Okabe (岡部洋一).
The Bastards of Fate formed in 2006, and toured for almost 5 years before finishing their first LP, called "Who's a Fuzzy Buddy?" which was released in March 2012 on This Will Be Our Summer records. The son of Ecuadorean immigrants, Roberto Carlos Lange was born in South Florida in 1980. His childhood was suffused with tropical heat, humidity, hurricanes, all refracted with the rich sounds and colors of the various Latin American cultures of southern Florida. Pounding bass beats from passing cars, boom boxes bouncing down the block, and late-night parties called "peñas" provided a foundation for Lange’s interest in sound and lifelong quest to discover the unlimited variety of objects used to produce music.
Cibo Matto is a New York City-based band formed by two Japanese women, Miho Hatori and Yuka Honda in 1994. Despite being based in the US rather than Japan, they have strong links with the shibuya-kei scene in their use of sampling and mixture of trip-hop and rock, but stand out amongst other such artist for their particularly strong use of Latin and South American music. Cibo Matto is an Italian phrase that means "crazy food".
Guano Padano
American composer Steve Layton was born in Pasco, Washington, in 1956. Long based in Seattle, in 2007 he relocated to Houston, Texas. Layton creates a kind of music that blurs the distinctions between electronic and acoustic art forms, as well as the notions of the traditional and the experimental. He invokes, alters, engages or dissolves questions of history, culture -- even "real" versus "unreal" -- in the mind and ear of the listener.
Han Bennink (born April 17, 1942) is a Dutch jazz drummer, percussionist and multi-instrumentalist. Bennink was born in Zaandam, the son of a classical percussionist. He played the drums and the clarinet during his teens. Through the 1960s he drummed with a number of American musicians visiting the Netherlands, including Dexter Gordon, Sonny Rollins and Eric Dolphy (he can be heard on Dolphy's final studio recording, Last Date (1964)).
Nicolas Collins (born March 26, 1954 in New York City) is an composer of mostly electronic music and former student of Alvin Lucier. He often uses home-made electronics and found sound such as skipping CD players or radio broadcast and is currently Editor in Chief of the Leonardo Music Journal. He is also the chair of the sound department of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He is a member of The Impossible Music Group with David Weinstein, David Shea, Ted Greenwald, and Tim Spelios.
