Chicago’s progressive songsmiths Maps & Atlases released their long awaited album, Perch Patchwork, on June 29, 2010. The record was produced by Jason Cupp (The Elected, Nurses, Cast Spells). The band’s unique style melds the technicality of progressive music and the idiosyncrasies of art rock into a fascinating and oddly accessible sound all their own. Known for their virtuosic musical ability, Maps & Atlases write pop songs with a magnificent aptitude for texture and a distinctive blend of both the intricate and organic.

Born and bred in Dallas, Texas, the members of Slowride compose an infectious punk sound similar to the likes of Jawbreaker and Pennywise. They're also rockers with a sweet side, deriving catchy fun melodies. The band — which is composed of Dan Phillips (guitar/vocals), Rob Marchant (bass), and Steve Visneau (drums) — hooked up with famed indie producer Ed Rose (Appleseed Cast, Brandtson, Get Up Kids) to record some songs for their Deep Elm debut in late 2001. The fruit of those sessions was As I Survive the Suicide Bomber, issued in February 2002.

1) an American alternative rock band that formed in 1987 and split in 1991
2) a francophone indie garage rock formed in 2002 in Montreal, Canada, and now known as Galaxie 1) Galaxie 500 formed in Boston, MA in 1986 and comprised vocalist/guitarist Dean Wareham (a transplanted New Zealand native), bassist Naomi Yang and drummer Damon Krukowski, longtime friends who first met in high school in New York City before all three attended Harvard University.
