Estelle Fanta Swaray (born 18 January 1980 in London, United Kingdom) commonly known as Estelle, and formerly as Est'elle, is an English R&B singer-songwriter, rapper and record producer. The band was formed initially as a 4-piece group, whose members met through their college (Andrew Dougherty on drums, Tom Hughes on bass & Becca Hopkins was the female vocalist). In the Summer of 2007, lead singer Donal Scullion decided to expand the bands membership, and bring back a bit of soul music to Belfast, NI. In the early days the members of the band fluctuated slightly, with trumpet, keys and clarinet players all being replaced.

Essentially the solo arm of Ted Leo & the Pharmacists; Leo has done one ep (Tell Belgury, Balegury is dead) that was originally to be a Pharmacists single. The single of the Pharmacists song was expanded to include a live solo version of the Pharmacists song "The High Party" as well as a handful of originals and covers being performed by Leo himself ala early Billy Bragg. Leo often plays live solo and many times while the Pharmacists are on tour he will make radio appearances playing Pharmacists songs and even do small solo sets to accompany full Pharmacists sets.
Bassnectar on his history, posted via bassnectar.net A quick run down of my musical life:
When I was in junior high I began discovering music that struck me, as opposed to music that felt familiar (like my parent’s music). This was mostly Metallica (the first song I heard of theirs was “Enter Sandman”, so this was after they had already become “mainstream” and blown up), NWA (which I memorized completely verbatim)...
The songs of Brown Eye Superfly are filled with tales of loss, regret, jealousy and love turned bad. Like a collection of short stories, shot through with themes of relationships turned sour. Each track has it's own flavour - blues, jazz, funk, soul
There are three bands named the Gibson Brothers. 1. The Gibson Brothers are a France-based musical group, who had their greatest success during the disco boom of the late 1970s and are best known for their hit "Cuba". The three brothers, Chris (lead vocals, percussion), Patrick (vocals, drums) and Alex (vocals, keyboards) were born on Martinique in the West Indies. They recorded their first single "Come To America" in Paris in 1976, and both it and its follow-up "Non Stop Dance" made the charts in Europe, where they toured successfully.
1) Band was formed by the sitar/guitar player Gualberto in 1967. At the beginning of the seventies Smash recorded two albums for Philips label "Glorieta de los Lotos" in 1970 and "We Come To Smash This Time" in 1971. Unfortunately early death of the vocalist Julio Matito bring band to the end. Music which Smash create is compare to Moody Blues and Vanilla Fudge psychodelic mood. Through guitar style of Manuel Molina we hear evident flamenco touch, applying on traditional "palos" (tarantos).
The Original Conspiracy deliver belting tunes drowned in distortion but with eloquent melodies and a refreshing honesty. Blamed in certain circles for the lack of sunshine in last year’s summer, it is often rumoured that the heat, intensity and energy of the sun was wrapped up deep in a rehearsal room somewhere in 'the North', being used to create the superb single-malt blend of dirty funk, snarling rock and epic hooks.
