Oblong is Patrick Kenmore, who has been keeping himself busy engineering and producing records for legendary acts such as Add N to X. His organic approach to songwriting, coupled with his studio skills led him to numerous other collaborations with Nathan Haines, Isaac Turner (Spektrum), Kaidi Tatham (Bugz in the Attic) and Simon Franks (Audio Bullies) among many others. Teho Teardo & Blixa Bargeld

This is a quite unique collaboration, an unexpected one between the italian composer Teho Teardo and Blixa Bargeld, leader of Einstürzende Neubauten and former Bad Seeds. They first met during the realization of Ingiuria, a theatre pièce and right after that they collaborated on a song for a soundtrack, "A Quite Life". That song started the whole process of writing and producing an album together where songs and more experimental pieces could find a common ground.

Lionel Marchetti

Lionel Marchetti was born in France in 1967. His interest in music resides in the qualities of sound. He is one of a handful of artists who in the mid-to-late 1990s took electroacoustic music out of academic studios and into the free improvisation ring. A scholar who worked at the CFMI (Lyon) and GRM (Paris) studios and published a book on acousmatic composer Michel Chion, Marchetti developed a set-up of microphones and loudspeakers he uses on stage along with tape recorders, prepared CDs, motors and radios.

Lady Lamb The Beekeeper

Lady Lamb the Beekeeper is the musical moniker of Aly Spaltro. Spaltro began her music career writing and recording songs in a DVD rental store in Brunswick, Maine, using the store as her studio after finishing her midnight shift at the cash register. She anonymously gave out free samples of her first demo CD under the name Lady Lamb The Beekeeper, and quickly gained local popularity.

Chihei Hatakeyama

Chihei Hatakeyama (畠山地平) is a musician and an organizer who was born in 1978, and lives in the outskirts of Tokyo. He has performed for years under his given name and also as one half of the electroacoustic duo Opitope, along with Tomoyoshi Date. Hatakeyama got involved in playing music through strumming a guitar in a few rock-oriented bands in his teenage years. Subsequently a laptop computer superseded his bands as his main platform.

Robin Hayward

Robin Hayward studied tuba and composition at the Royal Northern College of Music and at the University of Manchester, England. His involvement in contemporary music started when he attended a course in 1989 with Giancarlo Schiaffini and the late Luigi Nono, where he studied Nono’s Post-prae-ludium per Donau for tuba and live-electronics. In 1993 he attended a workshop lead by Barry Guy, which led to him joining the London Jazz Composers' Orchestra, where he played alongside many key figures in English improvised music.

Jan Jelinek

Jan Jelinek (whose monikers include Gramm, for Source Records, and Farben), is a Berlin-based producer of electronic music drawing influences from jazz, dub, funk, soul, and house. Prior to releasing on the ~Scape label under his own name, he had put out albums as Farben (for Klang Elektronik). On 2001's Loop-Finding-Jazz-Records, Jelinek manipulates fragments of sound from old jazz recordings, transforming them beyond recognition into completely new pieces of music. On la nouvelle pauvrete, he joins forces with the imaginary band The Exposures, which he himself fabricated.
