Wildbirds and Peacedrums

Hailing from Sweden, Wildbirds & Peacedrums is comprised of married couple, Andreas Werliin and Mariam Wallentin. The couple met at a music academy where they both complained about the singular focus on technique and regularity. Their own approach to music is rather unorthodox. Andreas uses first and foremost drums which he now and then backs with electronic effects and glockenspiel. Mariam handles the vocals and she easily switches between sounding like Nina Simone and Joanna Newsom.

Pick a Piper

A collective featuring Brad Weber of Caribou, Angus Fraser of Tenth of May, Dan Roberts ex-Winter Equinox and Clint Scrivener. "A fusion of styles can be a tough thing to pull off effectively, yet Pick A Piper manages to push the realm of both splendor and mayhem like some sonic rite of passage. A combination of neo-psychedelic dream-pop and tribal-fueled double-drumming explodes into a torrent of live-energy where an Afro-Brazilian celebration meets pop-loving hearts."
