Formed in 2006, the Straight Arrows are a studiously authentic take on the glory days of 60s garage rock. From Sydney, Australia, they feature members of local acts such as The Holy Soul and The Red Riders. Doing their best to re-invent The Sonics, the Straight Arrows don't fail.
Formed in Helsinki, Finland in 2008. Black Twig builds on the tradition of jangly, distorted rhythm music. The sound echoes of modern fuzzed out pop experiments as well as of 60s garage rock gems, sometimes developing into hypnotic, repetitive drones. The Flaming Stars are a garage band. That's garage as in loud guitars, valve amps, cheap electric organ and trashcan drums. They play live in the studio, live on the radio and live on stage. Formed in December 1994, they have regularly filled venues such as The Garage, and the LA2, and venues around the country, as well as playing sell-out tours around Europe, Japan and the US.
Featuring ex-members of Tea Elles and formally called The Baths, the Royal Baths are a band from San Francisco, CA that are in the same garage rock scene as bands like Ty Segall, Thee Oh Sees, and The Fresh & Onlys. Unlike those bands, though, the Royal Baths contrast with sunny San Francisco and it's sunny sounds and focus on a very dark and intense form of "stoner" psychedelia, whilst combining other, more melodic elements.
