Bumpy Knuckles

Bumpy Knuckles, also known as Freddie Foxxx, (born James Campbell in 1969) is an American rapper from New York. He has a trademark rough and tough approach in his lyrics (as well as his lifestyle) which has endeared him to Hardcore hip hop lovers and yet made him infamous within the record industry. Foxxx released his first LP, Freddie Foxxx Is Here in (1989) through MCA Records. He soon parted ways with the label and became a member of Queen Latifah's Flavor Unit establishment.

The Klezmatics

The Klezmatics are an American band based in New York City. Formed in New York's East Village in 1986, the band plays an updated form of the music, mixing it with other musical traditions, singing in English and Yiddish. They have also participated in cross-cultural collaborations, most notably with the Palestinian musician Simon Shaheen.

Freshkills

Freshkills are a New York City post-punk quintet, formed in 2004. Freshkills – yes, one word – are a five-piece tour guide to the lives, awkward conversations and head games that play out deep into the night in the city's dark bars and messy bedrooms. Each protagonist is motivated by sordid appetites, like moths attracted to blackness. Each song has the sound and feel of a mini-apocalypse. Freshkills are comprised of vocalist Zachary Lipez, guitarists Johnny Rauberts and Timothy Murray, bassist Mitchell Jordan and drummer Jim Paradise.

Statik Selektah

Patrick Baril, born on January 23, 1982 in Lawrence, MA, is an American Hip-Hop DJ and Producer. He goes by the name of 'Statik Selektah' and is best known for his mixed CDs with rappers Nas, Boston rapper Termanology, Royce Da 5'9" and G-Unit Records, as well as his mixshows on FM and Satellite Radio. Statik's love of music led to him to be an aspiring DJ at a young age, playing with his parents' 8-tracks and cassette decks.

There at least two artist by the name of India, one from the United States and one from the United Kingdom. 1) A highly-emotive approach to Latin music has led to Puerto Rico-born and Bronx, New York-raised La India (born: Linda Viera Caballero) being dubbed, "The Princess of Salsa." Her 1994 album, Dicen Que Soy, spent months on the Latin charts. While known for her Salsa recordings, India started out recording Freestyle w/ her debut album Breaking Night in 1990 as well as lending her vocals to many house classics.
