Dirtywings

dirtywings' music is indie-pop earcandy with a rock/electro edge. Hairbrush-mime to their fresh yet familiar-sounding melodies, hooky riffs, and catchy, memorable choruses. Lyrically, dirtywings push the pop envelope, unafraid to probe at controversial subjects. Asa Broomhall

Australia's own Rock/Roots larrikin; Asa Broomhall has given us his 5th independent album; ‘Jangle House’. Recorded in an iconic old Guitar Shop in Brisbane over the Easter 2011 break, ‘Jangle House’ was truly a labour of love. Recording in a historically musical place was just one reason for creating this album, as Asa's brothers house where previous albums had been recorded/mixed and where the studio was located was consumed by the January 2011 floods, and was subsequently condemned and demolished.

Artist Type:

Amy Obenski

Amy’s fourth album, Grow to Catch the Wind (2011), takes her multilayered sound to new levels. A string quartet, layered harmonies, and howling cello solos all join with her signature soaring vocals, piano and guitar. Amy’s lyrical confessions pierce through the sonic complexity, perhaps more than ever. The album, her most brave and honest work yet, is the culmination of several years of soul-searching, a cycle of death and rebirth.
