The Toy Dolls

The Toy Dolls are a British band. They formed in 1979, playing their first ever gig at Millview Social Club, Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, UK, on 20 October 1979. After a couple of gigs, vocalist Pete Zulu left to form his own band. He was replaced by Paul "Hud" Hudson, who himself left after a single gig, leaving Toy Dolls as a trio with guitarist Michael "Olga" Algar to assume vocal duties. This was just the start of the revolving door of drummers and bassists that would characterize the Toy Dolls line-up over the years.

Maxi Priest

Maxi Priest (born Max Alfred Elliott on June 10, 1961) is a reggae singer from England. Career Of West Indian descent, and the second youngest of nine children, he was born in Lewisham, London. He is known as the 'King of Lovers Rock'. His music is sometimes closer to R&B, and pop, than to reggae music itself. His first major album was the self-titled Maxi Priest (1988) along with his cover of Cat Stevens' Wild World established him as one of the British reggae top singers this internationally acclaimed vocalist, is the only UK reggae act to score an American Billboard Number One.

Atomic Kitten

Atomic Kitten were an English girl group, first established in 1997 in Liverpool. The original line-up featured, Liz McClarnon, Kerry Katona and Heidi Range (now in the Sugababes), but Range decided to quit and was replaced by Natasha Hamilton. Jenny Frost (formerly of Precious) replaced Katona in 2001. Hamilton, McClarnon & Frost were the final and most successful line-up of the group. Atomic Kitten had three UK number one singles; Whole Again, the fourth best selling single by a girl group of all time; Eternal Flame and The Tide Is High (Get the Feeling).

The Blue Orchids

The Blue Orchids were formed in 1979 in Manchester, England by Martin Bramah and Una Baines, both formerly of The Fall. They were joined by Rick Goldstraw, guitar, Steve Toyne on bass and Joe Kin on drums. With this line up, they recorded the singles "The Flood" and "Work" for rough trade records.
The group underwent a series of personnel changes before the release of their album "The Greatest Hit (Money Mountain" (1981), which faetured Bramah, Baines (keyboards), Goldstraw (now on bass) and Toby Toman on drums. This line up also released an ep, "Agents of Change" in 1982.

Kicker

There are two bands called "Kicker": 1) A British indie pop band
2) A punk rock band from Oakland, California 1) Jill Drew and Phil Sutton (Comet Gain and The Soft City) started UK band Kicker in 1998, releasing their first single in 1999, on the Rough Trade Shop imprint ForUs. Four more singles followed, on various lables, which were compiled together as their first CD 'Fivefortyfives' (Track and Field) in 2002.

Stars Of Aviation

Stars of Aviation are a pop group from Brighton and London. They met in university Russian class in 1998 and started playing together in 2000. Since then, they have grown in number to eight and now feature guitars, drums, trumpet, accordion, keyboards and bassoon. Stars of Aviation have released a number of EPs and singles. Marie et l'accordeon, released on Kitchen Records in 2006, gained radio play from Huw Stephens on Radio 1 and a number of BBC 6Music shows and was described as 'a slice of escapist wonder'.

All Saints

All Saints are a English/Canadian pop music girl group that enjoyed considerable critical and commercial success. The group comprises founding members Melanie Blatt and Shaznay Lewis, and sisters Nicole and Natalie Appleton. Their debut album, All Saints, was released in 1997 with the first single "I Know Where It's At" reaching #4 on the UK charts. The next single, "Never Ever", launched All Saints as stars, selling over two million copies in the United Kingdom also. They later went on to release their second full length studio album, Saints & Sinners in 2000.
