Mikey Murka

Mikey started his career back in 1983 with the legendary Unity Sound System in London. Continually rocking the dancehalls then and being a competitor with Shaka's sound the whole thing grew until Rib, the man behind Unity, finally started to produce own tracks. Thus the absolutely unique Unity sound was created, mostly digital smashers simply done with Casio keyboards and SynDrums, the energetic and easy vocal style of the sound system crew all over the place. Mikey scored a few hits then, like the brilliant 'We Try' or 'Ride Pon The Riddim' which reached no.

The Organ Grinder's Monkey

The Organ Grinder’s Monkey is a musical collaboration between man and machine, an unholy alliance whose aim is to combine indie-rocking guitars with glitchy lo-fi electro beats and a dash of retro 8-bit synth. The duo consists of Benjamin Sane: a human who sings and plays guitar, and Bill Murray: the laptop computer who provides the rhythmical backdrop for his organic counterpart. “Stormy Weather” is the title of their latest EP, released in July of this year.
