LR Rockets

“Beginning like a rock concert on the Klangers planet, before surging into an amped up, wiry rebirth of the same demonic soul that drove Young Knives to wear Victorian casual wear and (probably) smoke pipes in the comfort of their red velvet coated den, But with a more muscular physique - keep the name on your lips, I have a feeling you’ll be using it more frequently in the near future!” Subba-Culture (single of the week)

Sex Gang Children

Sex Gang Children is an early group that formed in the early 1980s in Britain. They were a very dramatic band, relying on heavy bass, tribal drumming, sudden mood shifts, a woozy cabaret ready sound that influenced the rise of the later scene, and yet another in a long line of goth singers with an odd, highly dramatic voice. Although the group only released one official album, their singles and various other tracks have been packaged into numerous collections, and they remain one of the better known bands out of the early scene.

Marsupilami

MARSUPILAMI were an English proto-prog outfit who relocated to the Netherlands. The complexity of their music is quite unusual for the times – we’re talking 1970 here, when the big guns such as YES, GENESIS and CRIMSON were barely coming out of the woodwork. A mixture of blues, experimental jazz and hints of folk, their music is often dark and foreboding, favouring perilously complex structures. Try to imagine a mixture of KING CRIMSON, JETHRO TULL, the STRAWBS and EAST OF EDEN.
