Growing up in a house filled with music, from the folk, calypso and opera enjoyed by her Jamaican born mother to the trad, swing and be-bop from her jazz-obsessed father, Louise Parker, aptly named after Louis Armstrong, was born to create the sort of soulful jazz she is rapidly gaining a reputation for. A big hit on the festival circuit and a regular on Radio 2’s Best of Jazz, British vocalist, Louise Parker is a powerful live performer and a skilful interpreter of swing, blues and gospel classics. She commits to each song with the warmth, spirit and passion of the great jazz divas.

Edinburgh's Exile Band is a collective of musical disciples praising God in the sanctuary, wrestling with him in the desert, and pursuing him through creation. Having played and toured extensively since their formation in 2003, their first and all-original album un|broken was released in May 2009. Their recorded sound reflects the rich orchestral textures and gospel overtones of their live performances, but influences ranging from chamber music to blues rock are evident in places, reflecting the songwriters' varied backgrounds.

Throughout their 17-year history, the Disciples never were an after hours combo. The band is not a project, it’s an attitude, a passion to which all members dedicate a majority of their spare time. They are well on their path and should large success cross this path in the near future, they will also tackle this hurdle.

Performer of improvised rearrangements of obscure blues and 19th century slave-era spirituals and work songs. Recent tours include gigs in the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Switzerland and the USA.
