( there are two bands that are called Childhood) 1) Story: Childhood was a nu metal band from Hungary, which was active between 2001-2003. In such a short period of time they recorded one demo record, played at all clubs in Budapest (capital of Hungary), achieved two headliner spots on a stage at Sziget Festival, one of the greatest European summer music festivals. In 2003, after the second Sziget appearance and right before a tour with some of the best nu metal acts of the time in Hungary the band split up because of personal issues.

Los Angeles-based jangle pop outfit Pop Art formed in 1983, originally comprising singer David Steinhart, his brothers Steve and Rich on guitar, bassist Tony Ortega and drummer Steve LePatner. The Steinharts soon after formed their own label, Stonegarden, for the purposes of releasing the band's debut single, "That's Enough for Me"; a self-titled, six-song EP followed in 1984. Pop Art's full-length debut A Perfect Mental Picture appeared a year later, earning the group a cult following among college radio listeners - LePatner left the lineup soon after its release...

On first blush, this sounds like the latest gorgeous, jangly guitar pop record from somewhere north of Manchester. Belle and Sebastian meet the better moments of the Lightning Seeds, with Aztec Camera's Roddy Frame strumming away. But on closer listening there's a certain local twang to both the voices and the music on the second production from this unheralded Brisbane six-piece. There's nary a foot, or a note, wrong on this, and the Zebras can lay claim to being, if not the heirs, then at least the love child of the Go-Betweens.
