Born in the UK in the '70s as The Lens, IQ remained, with Marillion, one of the very few progressive rock artists in the '80s. The style of their earlier material drew constant comparisons to that of groups like Genesis, but the band has always rejected the 'neo-progressive tag bestowed upon them.
There are two groups with the name Esquire and one DJ: 1) eSQUIRE (Lee Squires) is one of the hottest & most exciting young producers in the UK. Rapidly spreading his name to clubbers and industry heads alike, his sound of uplifting funky fuelled house is becoming the sound of dancefloors across the globe. Sean Filkins was born in Rochester, Kent, UK. Being closely assocaited with UK, neo-prog band Lorien as well as UK space rock ensemble, Soma, Filkins is not new to the progressive scene. This is his first release War & Peace & Other Stories under his own name. The music carries all the regular trademark progressive influences associated with his music.His album was released in April 2011 under F2 Records.
We could call LANDS END the first "aquatic progressive" band. The fact that they live on the shores of the Pacific Ocean seems like it has quite inspired these musicians and we find many allusions to the sea in their albums. Starting from rather simple neo Progressive rock, they built their own style made of energetic guitar assisted by keyboards, over which added vocals. Their music is very progressive, somewhere in the middle between Pink Floyd, Genesis and Yes, and the musicians don't hesitate to adventure themselves into long instrumental jams.
Crimson Sky are a Progressive Rock band based in Bristol, UK. Active since 2002, have released several self made EP's, produced by Martin Leamon and including songs written by Martin Leamon and the band. There have been several lineup changes over the years, with only Martin Leamon and Clive Lambert remaining since the first line-up. The current lineup have just released their first album "Misunderstood" containing songs written by the band as a whole, again produced and recorded by Martin Leamon.

Pendragon are an English progressive rock band established in 1978 in Stroud, Gloucestershire as Zeus Pendragon by guitarist Nick Barrett. The Zeus was dropped before the band started recording. There were a few personnel changes in the early days, but since 1986 the lineup has remained relatively stable. Long standing drummer "Fudge" Smith being replaced by Joe Crabtree who has subsequently been replaced by Scott Higham who brings high energy along with a huge beaming smile!
Beardfish is a band from Gävle, Sweden that plays progressive rock. Their style resembles the progressive rock that was popular in the 1970s. In 2001, Rikard Sjöblom and David Zackrisson founded Beardfish together with Petter Diamant on drums and Gabriel Olsson on bass. Drummer Petter Diamant subsequently left the band, and was replaced by Magnus Östgren in 2002; flautist and keyboardist Stefan Aronsson also joined.
