With a background like DeWalta’s, the stage was set long ago for this yougin to blast some serious
holes in the fabric of music, time, and space. DeWalta a.k.a. David Koch budded from a large family in
southern Germany filled with theater, literature, and music. Early schooling came in the form of the
interdisciplinary Waldorf School (also home to electronic pioneers Abe Duque and John Selway)
tasked with nothing less than helping young people fulfill their unique destinies.
With the school’s emphasis on artistic and imaginative endeavors in elementary education, David
Northcape is the ongoing work of a British artist, and can broadly be described as downtempo melodic electronica. Northcape self-released his first CD in 2005, following this with a second independent release ('Detach') in 2007 and an EP ('Some Bright Valley') on the monotonik netlabel. Northcape's latest album is Captured From Static, released by Sun Sea Sky Productions on April 6th 2010. The aim is to express ideas and evoke environments, landscapes and memory rather than to focus on the technology and techniques used.
Damián Schwartz´s weakness began at an early age although it wasn´t until he turned 15 did he come in to contact with techno and electronic music. At the same time Damián came across CMYKmusik and from this encounter arose Musica Charlista, a 50/50 project between Damián and Alex Under. As a producer Damián inclines towards avant-garde, developing multiple musical concepts turning his music into something original and unique.
As Saschienne, Sascha Funke has formed a duo extraordinaire with multi-talented instrumentalist, singer and wife Julienne Dessagne, displaying an expressivity previously unknown to anyone following his solo work. Far away from the romantic hokum of crude feelgood songwriting, both not only focus on on the harmony and bliss, but explore the discord, the misunderstandings that great love brings with it.
Ugandan born Jenifa Mayanja has been part of the underground deep house music scene for many years. She solidified her reputation first as a music buyer at the now defunct legendary record store "Dancetracks" and then as one of the most sought after djs in New York crowing her achievements playing at the "Body and Soul party many times over.
She created and nurtured her own parties that featured her eclectic style of djing one of those parties "Bu-mako" was the start of other creative avenues for Jenifa.
Anile is a Drum N Bass producer/dj from London He's only been producing music for 3 years, but Anile has already released on Inneractive, Cylon, Renegade Hardware and now makes his debut on Med School, reaffirming his extreme versatility on the operating table. Ingredients: warm atmospherics, rolling amens, twinkling patterns, driving dancefloor energy.
As a vinyl junkie, hes been an ambassador for electronic music during a hedonistic 29 year career as a DJ at seminal clubs and events worldwide... Some highlights:
