Carnist are a DIY hardcore punk band from London England. Unlearn is our first album. It deals with the concept of unlearning societal norms and cultural traits which are contrary to our nature - be that our attitude towards non human animals or indeed humans who do not fall in line with stifling, archaic and claustrophobic ideas of what it is to be human. We oppose patriarchy, religion (and the myriad of ways these institutions have marred society - be that misogyny, homophobia, transphobia et al) and Speciesism.
Billy Joel (born William Martin Joel on May 9, 1949 in Bronx, New York, USA) is an American pianist, singer-songwriter, and composer. Since releasing his first hit song, "Piano Man," in 1973, Joel has become a multi-million-selling recording artist. Joel recorded many popular hit songs and albums from 1971 until he stopped recording pop/rock music in 1993. He is one of the very few rock (or even pop) artists to have Top 10 hits in the '70s, '80s, and '90s.
There is more than one artist with this name: 1) A are a British alternative rock band. They formed in 1995 in Suffolk, England. The original line up was the three brothers: Jason Perry (Vocals), Adam Perry (Drums) and Giles Perry (Keyboard), with two friends Mark Chapman (Guitar) and Steve Swindon (Bass). Swindon quit the band in 1997 and was replaced by Daniel P. Carter. After changing their name from 'Grand Designs' and abandoning their early progressive-inspired sound for a more punky feel, they released their début album "How Ace Are Buildings" in 1997.
Flogging Molly is a seven-piece Irish American celtic punk band that formed in Los Angeles, California, United States in 1997 and is currently signed to SideOneDummy Records. There are eight artists by the name of Vex. 1) Vex hailed from South East London / north west kent area and formed in the very early eighties, the 'Sanctuary' 12" and 'It's no crime' on the Mortarhate compalation 'Who?What? Why?When?Where?' were their only releases.
Sanctuary was issued on Fight Back, a sublabel of Mortarhate, run by the people of Conflict. Vex also played gigs with Conflict, so they were more associated with the anarchist punk scene than the Batcave fair. But contrary to most anarcho-punk bands from that time, they were not influenced by CRASS or Conflict.
Chron Gen were a British punk band. Chron Gen were formed in January 1978 in Hitchin, Herts. Ex members of The Condemned and Optional Xtras fused into Chron Gen. The band released their debut EP "Puppets of War" (also had singles versions of Lies, Chronic Generation, and Mindless Few)
