Peter Edwards Trio

The first release from jazzlotion is from the Peter Edwards Trio, performing four of Peter's original compositions. The line-up is Peter Edwards - piano, Saleem Raman - drums and Max Luthert - double bass. A little about Peter Edwards....one of the most exciting young talents on the British jazz scene today. A pianist and composer with a Masters in Jazz from Trinity College and an alumni of the Tomorrow’s Warriors artistic development programme, he has already established a growing reputation as a bandleader, musical director, composer and arranger.

Cat Power

Charlyn Marie Marshall, also known as Chan (pronounced "Shawn") Marshall, was born in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S. on 21 January 1972. After dropping out of high school, she started performing under the name Cat Power, while in Atlanta, backed by musicians Glen Thrasher, Mark Moore, and others. She soon moved to New York City, United States in 1992, then later opening for Liz Phair in 1994, she met Steve Shelley of Sonic Youth and Tim Foljahn of Two Dollar Guitar, who encouraged her to record, and played on her first two albums, 1995's Dear Sir and 1996's Myra Lee.

Brendan Kelly

There is more than one artist with this name: 1) Brendan Kelly (born September 8, 1976) is the bassist and co-vocalist of Chicago band The Lawrence Arms, as well as guitarist/lead vocalist of The Falcon. Kelly's former bands include Slapstick and The Broadways. He is known for his raspy vocals and drunken demeanor. Kelly graduated from Northwestern University. In 2004, he appeared on The Daily Show With Jon Stewart in a correspondent piece by Ed Helms entitled "The Clash." He has a blog called Bad Sandwich Chronicles.

This Providence

This Providence (previously known as Sunday Best), is a four piece band from Seattle, Washington US. The members of This Providence came together in the summer of 2001 and soon after recorded a 4 song demo CD, under the short lived name of "T minus 1." In 2003 they recorded the better known The Sunday Best EP, co-produced, and self-released (now out of print). While still in high school, they gathered a strong local following as well as some label attention. After graduating, the band released their debut full-length record, Our Worlds Divorce, produced by Casey Bates.

Skinshape is a UK artist, based in Dorset. He is only 18 years old, and has been writing music for about 5 years now. He writes his music based on his love for 60's music, ambient/electronica, dubstep, drum & bass and many other subgenres of electronic music. He is also in a band, up on myspace called 'The Yearning', (www.myspace.com/theyearningband) a psychedelic rock/blues group which have been played on BBC6 Introducing. He is currently unsigned, and focusing on writing more material.
