sludge metal

Natalie Pryce

You're at the end of your tether. Your workmates think you're a vile wee shit, your partner can't stand to look at you and people laugh at you on the street. You come home to your drab wee council flat and spend the evening recollecting all the things that have gone wrong in your life. You think "if I die, will anyone notice I'm gone?" Then you realise- you have nothing left to live for. You find a shotgun amongst the detritus of your meagre personal belongings and you put it under your chin. You're about to pull the trigger when you hear something.

Battlefields

Hailing from the depths of Minnesota and Fargo-North Dakota, BATTLEFIELDS have been touring relentlessly for the last three years and accruing massive accolades for their brutally honest music and astounding live performances and their two previous records, both released on indie label Init Records. BATTLEFIELDS have definitely stepped up to the plate and created an instant classic in "Thresholds of Imbalance" that encompasses a new direction in extreme and epic mind-expansive music.

Artist Type:

Samothrace

Samothrace initially came together out of friendship made through involvement in DIY Punk/Hardcore/Metal community. Although currently based in Seattle, Washington, their hometowns span from New Mexico, Kansas and Oklahoma. Their lyrics, albeit poetic, are rooted in the ideals of social change, political incoherence, and a bleak but positive outlook on life... intended for those who've taken back their breath and risen on their own and those who wish to do so. Samothrace is an evolving beast. Keep it heavy... keep it underground. Heavy music for heavy times.

Parabellum

There is more than one artist with this name: 1) Parabellum from Colombia. Being formed in 1981 Parabellum is referred to as the first extreme band from Colombia, and one of the first in South America. Unbelievably evil stuff somewhere between Hellhammer, Sarcofago, Poison (GER) and Bathory, but even more dirty and vicious with some spine-chilling parts. Had a couple of EPs in the 80-s, and in 2005 a compilation, called Tempus Mortis was released.

Necrophagia

Necrophagia is an american band assembled in Wellsville, Ohio in 1983. They were one of the first bands and were a popular group in the underground "tape trading" scene of the early-to-mid-1980s.
