Todd Bodine

Todd Bodine was born in 1976 and grew up in Berlin. In 1997 he started out as a resident DJ at Tresor club, where he played his energetic Detroit-sets over the next few years. In 1999 he released his first record together with Daniel Paul and DJ Zky on Season records.
In the same year he also renovated his own studio, where he produced his own first solo-house-project, which was released on Cabinet records

Bill Youngman

After years of jazz and classical guitar training, Youngman decided in '94 to put the strings aside for a bit of electronic dabbling. Being influenced by instrumental music, drum ’n bass, hip hop and bleep techno resulted in his take to be coined "electrostep". In 1995 he met producer John Selway from Serotonin Records, for which he would release his first EP in fact entitled "Electro Step". This debut EP displayed Youngman's hybrid of drum ’n bass tempo, breakbeat chops with the tonalities and bleeps of classic electro.

There are two artists under the name of Mark Hawkins 1.Mark Hawkins is a technical metal guitarist/producer who hails from tallahasee 2.Mark Hawkins is in the vanguard of the new wave of new wave UK techno. Beginning his career in 1999 with a split EP with Michael Forshaw on the latter's much loved Chan 'n' Mike's label, Hawkins was soon noticed by Saskia Slegers for whom he has now recorded 6 eps on her well known Djax Up Beats imprint. First wave Detroit techno artist famous for early minimal sound combining elements of detroit with a stripped down and jacky sound more popular in Chicago at that time. Incredible crossover appeal on party tracks and stripped down minimal bleep techno, with crisp grainy claps that have made his sound and use of the RZ-1 drumbox unmistakable. Founder of Accelerate records, Seventh City Records, Seventh City distribution (and retail store on Gratiot Ave at one point), early collaborator with Richie Hawtin's Plus 8 records.

The Advent

The Advent may refer to the alias of techno artist Cisco Ferreira or the Christian metalcore band. aka Cisco Ferreira Longtime advocates of sonic terrorism even before banding together as the Advent in 1993, Cisco Ferreira and Colin McBean's assault on conventional techno flourished in part because of abundant glimpses into related styles, from electro and hip-hop to techno. Soon after leaving school, Ferreira began working as an engineer at Jack Trax Records, a job which enabled him to glimpse first-hand the work of such auteurs as Derrick May and Marshall Jefferson.

Surgeon

Since exploding onto the techno scene in 1995, with the now-classic 'Surgeon EP', DJ and producer Anthony Child has been remoulding his area of contemporary techno. His early releases on Downwards caused a ripple of excitement through the techno cognoscenti of the time, leading to more widespread exposure via remix work for Dave Clarke and inclusion on Jeff Mills seminal 'Live At the Liquid Rooms CD'.

Steve Bicknell has run and DJ'd at the mythical Lost Parties since 1991 and introduced the U.K. to many of the very best DJ's from Detroit and Chicago Techno Including Jeff Mills, Basic Channel, Richie Hawtin to name a few. The Cosmic Record label is an outlet for himself and other artists such as DJ Rush & DJ Funk.

Vice

There are at least seven artists with the name Vice: 1) Vice is a rock/pop band composed of Stanford students Brodie Jenkins (vocals), Grahame Lesh (guitar), Mac Parish (bass), Jesse Engreitz (keyboard), and Eric Saar (drums) 2) Vice is Jay Denham, a producer of minimal techno from Kalamazoo. 3) Vice are a dutch 'Wave' band from Nijmegen who released an eponymous EP in 1982 and the album 'A Plain Reprise' in 1984.
