Death By Dance are a three piece from the Gold Coast, Australia who blend elements from punk, grunge and dance-driven indie rock. Forming in November 2008, they wasted no time engraving their name into the local scene and by their first birthday had shared the stage with national acts Mammal (Melbourne), Many Machines On Nine (Sydney), The Scissor File (Melbourne), House Vs Hurricane (Melbourne) as well as local acts Burning Brooklyn, Nine Sons of Dan, Skyway, Letters to Spain and Monster Goes Rawr.
There are several bands called The Moderns. 1. The Moderns (also known as 'Moderns') was a mod revival band from Sweden that existed from 1979 to 1981. It was made up of three high school friends that had previously served in the british invasion cover band Buddyboys. They self-released an EP, "Got to Have Pop", in January 1979. They also released their final 45 "Ready for the 80s" in 1980 and-- after a successful tour in the UK-- their only LP "Tro, Hopp & Fruktan" in 1981.
Late 2012 sees singer/songwriter David Aurora hit the road again for The Best Laid Plans… tour, a collection of solo acoustic performances along the east coast of Australia. Little Casino is a 5-piece Alternative Rock band from Brisbane. Playing a unique form of music that fuses 60's melodies, reverberated guitars and beautiful vocal melodies that swings from punchy pop to ambient noise, it's hard to not to enjoy a Little Casino set. After forming in late 2010, Little Casino released an independent EP mid-2011 which got nation wide indie and JJJ radio play, and are in the process of tracking a second record that's sure to take the band to the next level. There are at least 6 bands / projects named Sleepers: 1. Sleepers is the recording and performance project of Silas Ciarán and Amanda Boutourline. It began as a solo outlet for Ciarán in early 2004, and was at this time geared towards Black and Doom Metal with flecks of ambient. It is now a full fledged crossover project, incorporating many different sources into one heap of sound. 2. Sleepers was a progressive new wave rock band from Gold Coast, Australia. They have changed their name to Awaken I Am.
Operator Please is a baroque pop band from Gold Coast, Australia that formed in early 2005 and their current line up consists of vocalist and guitarist Amandah Wilkinson, drummer Tim Commandeur, keyboardist Chris Holland, bassist Ashley McConnell, and violinist Taylor Henderson. Original keyboardist Sarah Gardiner left in April of 2008. They released their debut album, "Yes Yes Vindictive" in November 2007 in Australia and March 2008 in Germany/United Kingdom. They released their third single "Just A Song About Ping Pong" in Australia, debuting at #15 on the ARIA charts.
