Rod Thomas

Folk + Disco = fun. Rod Thomas grew up between two villages in South Wales with nothing much to do but listen to records and learn to play a lot of instruments. He now lives in London which is much less remote, and plays alongside people like James Yuill, It Hugs Back, Gotye, Noah & The Whale and at places like Glastonbury Festival, Latitude, Green Man Festival and at venues big and small. He can also sometimes be spotted busking on the London underground.

Artist Type:

Rook and The Ravens

"Hailing from the hills on the east side of town, the band are loosely part of the recent wave of tuneful Americana-flavoured indie that's been lapping around the fringes of Manchester for a while now and with their debut album almost ready to go, things are indeed looking bright. They sound like a ride in an open-top car on a sunny day, which is not a concept generally associated with Glossop. There's no hidden agenda, no tricks, it's all about the tunes.

Love Ends Disaster!

Love Ends Disaster! are an indie rock band heralding from Nottingham, UK, made up of Suffolk-raised brothers Matt and Jon Dix, singer Matthew Oakes, Fine Artist Robert Sadler, and drummer Mark Thorley.
On the basis of their first demo, Volume I, recorded in 2003 and combining the Post-Rock of Mogwai, Talking Heads-inspired rythmns and cutting, spikey guitars reminiscent of Johnny Greenwood and Graham Coxon, the band were snapped up by High Wycombe's Denial Records, responsible for recording the first studio outing of Bloc Party ("Storm & Stress") in 2003.
