The Wake
There have been at least 3 bands called The Wake, including a Scottish post-punk band, an American goth band and a Finnish death metal band. 1. The Wake were a Scottish post punk and later indie pop band, founded in Glasgow in 1981 by Gerard “Caesar” McInulty (formerly of Altered Images), Steven Allen and Joe Donnelly, who was later replaced by Bobby Gillespie. Steven’s sister Carolyn Allen soon joined, and remained in the band until its end.

Whole Schebang
A young band with five primary players scattered around East London making some d.i.y. folkpop music. Formed in late 2006 as a duo to explore open-mic night hotspots with guitars in hand, they have gone on to acquire a drummer, flugelhornist/flautist and bassist. What you can hear here is their recorded music to date - four collections of songs: 'A house and everything in it', 'Supermalt EP', 'Will it grow back? EP' and the latest offering 'Stranger Than The Weather'. The latter shows the band testing out their fullest sound yet and is replete with big harmonies and a string-section.

Baffin Island
Baffin Island is a collaboration between Melanie Whittle (The Hermit Crabs), Jeremy Jensen and Jake Hite (both of The Very Most).
Named after the exact midpoint between Boise, Idaho, USA and Glasgow, Scotland, UK, Baffin Island combines the densely-layered indie pop of Boise's The Very Most with the more stripped down, thoughtful folky indie pop of Glasgow's The Hermit Crabs. The result is as sweet as you'd expect with healthy doses of Phil Spector,handclaps, delicate vocals, and lots and lots of reverb.

Kimbra
Kimbra, born and bred in Hamilton, New Zealand has been writing a fusion of jazz and soul for over 5 years, known for her erratic but graceful voice inspired by the likes of Björk and Jeff Buckley. Kimbra's first success was in 2004, receiving Second place in the Smokefree Rockquest along with Best Vocals and Womens Musicianship. Before her debut album, Kimbra released 2 singles: 'Simply On My Lips' and 'Deep For You'. Kimbra's debut album, Vows was released in 2011.
