Rowen Bridler

‘I don’t care what it is, care what it looks like/Don’t care how long it took/I care if it sells/... I don’t care how hard you work/I care if you’re gonna be a celebrity’ ‘home truths’ Rowen Bridler is one of the few singer-songwriters who write with a sense of humour about politics, the music industry and the cult of celebrity. Starting out with a poetic style, her early recorded work was difficult to categorise with a wide varity of classic and modern influences.

Daisy Dares You

Daisy Dares You is a 16-year-old future pop sensation from a sleepy little village in rural Essex. "I might be young, but I'm really not some blonde little dolly girl," she says. "And I'm not gonna be a helpless artist. I know what I want, and the only way it'll come out that way is if I do it. That much is true and may go some way to explaining how someone born in 1993 (1993!) has already managed to craft a clutch of surefire pop hits.

Sweet Female Attitude

Sweet Female Attitude were an R'n'B duo consisting of Leanne Brown and Catherine Cassidy both of whom came from Stockport in the UK, and are considered a one hit wonder in the United Kingdom. Their April 2000 single "Flowers" made it to number two in the UK charts, but the follow up, Eight Days A Week stalled at number 43. Sweet FA, as the name is commonly abbreviated to, were promoted as a 'more realistic' pair of British girls who refused to conform to the industry standards of being thin and well-toned, instead being happy with their figure.

The May Birds

The May Birds began with the Ella and Alice, the guitarist and singer. We always knew what kind of music we wanted to make and although we loved the simplicity of just guitar and vocals we wanted to bring more depth and texture to the songs. So we found Camilla the pianist and then Charlotte the cellist. We've spent the last 9 months writing recording and are now beginning to play more live. We played at a club in Soho called Blacks and have been invited back to play on a regular basis.
