Emperor is an influential Norwegian black metal band that represents a synth laden, progressive yet brutally aggressive and chaotic part of the genre, something quite different from the minimalism of other originators of the Norwegian black metal sound (e.g. Darkthrone). The band was formed around the core members Samoth (Tomas Thormodsæter Haugen) and Ihsahn (Vegard Sverre Tveitan) of the death metal band Thou Shalt Suffer and bass player Mortiis (Håvard Ellefsen) in Notodden, Norway, 1992.

Formed in 2005, Super Fun Happy Slide quickly rose to the top of the legendary Heywood grindcore scene with their combination of hardline straight-edge politics and their progressive melodic song writing. After the departure of founding member M. Sanchez, the band relocated to Melbourne City and changed their sound to a more Napalm Death influenced blend of Napalm Death and Napalm Death.

Coffins are a Japanese death-doom metal band, formed in 1996 by guitarist and vocalist Uchino. Having gone through several lineup changes in the past, they now consist of Uchino, Ryo (drums) and Koreeda (bass). Their sound is influenced by old school '80s and '90s doom metal, death metal and thrash metal. After several demos they released their 1st full-length album "Mortuary In Darkness" in 2005.
