The sound of the Dum Dum Girls, actually consisting of only girl Dee Dee (aka Kristen Gundred of Grand Ole Party), is categorized as "blissed out buzzsaw". Headquarter-ing in Los Angeles, Dum Dum Girls have a similar sound to the Vivian Girls, among other stereotypical comparisons to female fronted lofi bands.

Ecstatic Sunshine is an ongoing musical project that began in 2005 as a guitar duo comprised of Matthew Papich and Dustin Wong (who has since left the project to pursue Ponytail and his own solo guitar musics). Ecstatics has released 3 LPs and 2 EPs since that time and has performed hundreds of shows in the United States and Europe with a revolving group of players. Currently, Ecstatics live performances are solo endeavors by Papich.
The New Tigers is a fuzzy pop group from Turku, Finland. The band consists of Valtteri Virtanen (of Goodnight Monsters), Appu Jasu (Anselmus), Kece (Love Summer Boys), and Janne Kauppinen (Kauppilan Puutarha]). Ghost Outfit refers to two bands. One is an experimental rock group from around Manchester, England. They formed in their first incarnation in 2006 and sporadically played a few gigs and recorded under different names, until the lineup solidified in 2009. They recorded the Forest Shout EP in September 2009 as a four-piece, and played a few gigs until their guitarist quit. In April 2010 their bassist left the group, and they are now working as a two-piece.
There are two bands with the name Galaxie 500:
1) an American alternative rock band that formed in 1987 and split in 1991
2) a francophone indie garage rock formed in 2002 in Montreal, Canada, and now known as Galaxie 1) Galaxie 500 formed in Boston, MA in 1986 and comprised vocalist/guitarist Dean Wareham (a transplanted New Zealand native), bassist Naomi Yang and drummer Damon Krukowski, longtime friends who first met in high school in New York City before all three attended Harvard University.

There are at least two bands called Vivian Girls; 1) Disbanded Australian punk band from the 90s featuring Kody Abrams (Flesh Vs Venom, Bakelite, etc) and Sean Bailey (Lakes, etc) 2) Although only a band for a little more than a year, the Vivian Girls charms have already worked their magic on their short road to "out of nowhere" status. With their irresistable mix of 60's girl-group sounds, punk, post-punk and shoegaze, the 'Girls have mastered blurring the lines of genres and coming up with something aggressive yet beautiful; simple, gutsy music with a lot of class and melody.
