Marti Pellow
Marti Pellow (born March 23, 1965 in Clydebank, near Glasgow, Scotland) is the lead singer of the Scottish pop group Wet Wet Wet. He enjoyed success with the group throughout the late 1980s and 1990s. However, in 1997 drummer Tommy Cummingham left the band and its success waned immediately. Pellow was by this time suffering from addiction to heroin. He famously quoted, on finally beating the drug, "It was textbook. I couldn't function without it. But there's no romantic side to heroin - it's no good."
Clare Bowditch
Clare Bowditch is a a critically acclaimed, ARIA award-winning singer from Melbourne, Victoria. She came to prominence in 2005 with the release of her second album "What Was Left", which received excellent critical reviews, high rotation airplay on radio station Triple J and moderate commercial success. Perth born singer-songwriter, and indie-blues chanteuse Grace Woodroofe, came to public awareness at age 16 when she entered two demo recordings into the influential Australian radio station Triple J’s Unearthed competition. These songs found their way to Los Angeles artist collective, The Masses who immediately sponsored Grace to come to the United States to record and develop her sound. Skipping Girl Vinegar
Skipping Girl Vinegar are a 4-piece acoustic indie band based in Melbourne, Australia. Their music spans country, folk, indie rock and pop and comprise of Mark Lang (vocals/guitar), Chris Helm (drums/backing vocals), Sare Lang (bass/backing vocals) and Amanthi Lynch (keyboards). Beginning in 2006 with an extensive original repertoire established before playing live, they soon garnered several support slots including Bob Evans, The Lemonheads, The Shout Out Louds and Something For Kate, which, along with relentless gigging, saw their first single, 'One Chance' gain national airplay in mid-2007.
The Grates
The Grates are a two-piece band from Brisbane, Australia. Patience Hodgson (vocals), John Patterson (guitar) and Alana Skyring (drums) formed The Grates in 2002. The Grates have been lauded for their catchy songs and enthusiastic and energetic live show (Patience spends much of the show bouncing around, even while singing).
