Borbetomagus

Borbetomagus are a free improvisation group.
Borbetomagus formed in 1979 when saxophone players Jim Sauter and Don Dietrich collaborated with electric guitarist Don Miller; bass guitarist Adam Nodelman was briefly a member. Their music has been described as "a huge, overpowering, take-no-prisoners mass of sound." One extended technique they use is called "bells together" where Sauter and Dietrich physically place the openings of their saxophones against each other.

Geoff Mullen

Even if you’re fortunate enough to have the original small-run CDR of “Armory Radio,” this double vinyl set should still be of interest as it differs substantially from the first version, with additional material and new thoughts on what went before. If, like me, you’ve enjoyed interstation sounds from shortwave radios, you’ll probably find yourself atuned to this music very quickly. To my ears and imagination, these conjunctions of voices, snatches of music and random tones and whooses conjured up exotic lands and Geoff Mullen’s music has that quality...

Gods And Queens

Gods And Queens 3 piece band from Brooklyn/Philadelphia, who tried in vain to blatantly steal riffs and song patterns from some of their favorite bands, like Hoover, Rodan, The Telescopes, Angels Of Light, June Of 44, Lowercase, Spaceman 3 and the like...but failed on every attempt. Instead here are 7 songs that resemble nothing of who or what they were intended to be. Instead a few have said it sounds like a low rent super depressed version of Fugazi, and Quicksand with out the start stop timing, which Jamie is NOT happy about at all, in any sort of the word happiness.

Godsized

Godsized are four like-minded musicians with one main ambition in mind – channelling everything they have into creating heavy, groove based hard rock culminating in powerful, dynamic live shows. After solidifying the bands’ line-up in 2008 the band quickly established a name for themselves on the live circuit. The band spent the rest of the year alternating between the road and working on new material – keeping the hooks huge and the riffs even bigger.

Circle Takes the Square

Circle Takes the Square (often abbreviated CTTS) is a band from Savannah, Georgia, USA. The band formed in 2001 as a four-piece and after their first two releases they lost a guitarist but gained another in late 2004. What listeners tend to notice first about the band is the loud screaming of both male and female vocals that often function in a kind of call and response. Skillful, chaotic drumming coupled with intense, highly technical bass/guitar work have served to separate the band from most others in the screamo genre.
