Shetlander Chris Stout is widely-regarded as the leading fiddle player of his generation both in Scotland and beyond, a title he has earned through the plethora of musicians and bands he has collaborated with and more recently with the release of his stunning debut solo album First o’ the Darkenin’. Firmly grounded in his traditional roots but never afraid to explore new territory, Chris sets himself apart not just because of his astounding technical ability and musicianship but because of his determination to take the music to new levels of innovation and experimentation.

The Lost Soul Band

This Scottish band published two albums on Silvertone records in 1993. Their self-released swan song album Hung Like Jesus disappeared from general release almost as soon as it had been released. The album recorded in as a trio (Gordon Grahame, Richard Buchanan and Gavin Smith) has a bit rougher edge to it than the previous country-tinged albums. Pauline Henry

Pauline Henry was born on 29th January 1961, in Edinburgh. Pauline was part of The Chimes who were a successful dance music trio from Scotland, along with Mike Peden and James Locke. They are best known for their hits "Heaven" and a remake of U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For," which became a UK Top Ten hit. Bono from U2 famously commented that the Chimes' cover of their hit "I Still Haven't Found What Im Looking For" was the "only cover version he had heard that he enjoyed and did the original justice".
