The Psychedelic Furs

The Psychedelic Furs are an English rock band founded in London in the late 1970s. They came together in England's burgeoning punk scene of 1977, and initially consisted of Richard Butler (vocals), Tim Butler (bass guitar), Duncan Kilburn (saxophone), Paul Wilson (drums), and Roger Morris (guitars). By 1979, this line up had expanded to a sextet with the addition of John Ashton on guitar and Vince Ely replacing Wilson on drums.

Following on from gigs with artists as diverse as Mystery Jets, Metronomy, Athlete and Glasvegas they are about to embark on their first headline tour of the UK in support of their debut album 'The City that Sleeps'. Their sound combines the elegance of well-structured songwriting and an attention to textural detail with a love of contemporary genres ranging from dance and electronica to rock and pop.

Gyroscope

There are two bands with the name Gyroscope. The first is a / band from Perth, Western Australia formed in 1997 by Daniel Sanders (vocals, guitar), Zoran Trivic (guitar), Brad Campbell (bass), and Rob Nassif (drums). They recorded their first demo cassette, First, as Gyroscope Sunday in 1998, and took up playing regularly on the Perth live circuit whilst also finding time for work and school commitments. The second is a psychedelic jazz outfit from Quebec, Canada.

The Raincoats

The Raincoats were formed in 1977 by Ana da Silva (vocals, guitar) and Gina Birch (vocals, bass) while they were students at Hornsey College of Art, London, England. The first line-up included Ross Crighton on guitar and Nick Turner on drums for the band’s first gig in November 1977. Kate Korus, from The Slits and later The Mo-Dettes, joined briefly and was replaced by Jeremie Frank. Nick Turner left to form The Barracudas and Richard Dudanski (ex The 101'ers and later PiL) sat in on drums and film maker Patrick Keiller replaced Jeremie Frank on guitar.

A noise making band from Sydney, Australia, who began their post punk assault on listeners in 1979. Releases on the M Squared, Volition, Klanggalerie, Ascension and Rather be Vinyl labels throughout a 30 year sonic journey. Original line-up reformed in 2009 with Mitch Jones and Michael Tee. Released "SO" CDr in September 2009. Released "Adjust the terminology" CD in September 2010 In 2010 Shane Fahey joined. Released "It's behind you" CDr in May 2011
