The Hillfields

The Hillfields were born in the Royal Festival Hall,London,UK overcome by the raw power of Iggy Pop's 2007 summer Meltdown gig, a beautiful evening, and a smattering of beers. As of Halloween 2007, the Hillfields were three, made up of Rob Boyd, singing and guitaring, Grant Wilkinson on bass and Carlos Russell on drums The Hillfields are playing a mix of mellowed out lo-fi with bursts of noisy guitar pop, that's been described as like 'Pavement scoring a Hal Hartley film' or 'Mojave meets Frusciante'.

Annuals

Annuals are an indie rock band formed in 2003 in Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. The band consists of Adam Baker (vocals, synthesizer/guitar), Kenny Florence (guitar/lapsteel), Anna Spence (keyboards/vocals), Mike Robinson (bass), Zack Oden (guitar/drums) and Nick Radford (drums). The band was started by Adam Baker in 2003 as a side project of the still active sister band Sunfold, formerly known as Sedona and headed up by lead guitarist Kenny Florence. Ace Fu Records signed Annuals in the fall of 2005 and then released their debut LP Be He Me on October 17, 2006.

Menswear

Menswe@r were a short-lived Britpop band in the mid 1990s from Camden in London. They signed their record deal after their fifth gig, appearing on the cover of Melody Maker (in an article about Camden club night Blow Up) before they had recorded a note. They were featured in a Select article about the mod revival when the project was still purely in the imaginations of Chris Gentry and Johnny Dean. Their dress sense was Mod (tight fitting suits etc) whilst their music was influenced by both Blur's second album Modern Life Is Rubbish and Elastica.

Ben Watt

Ben Watt (born 6 Dec 1962, London) is best-known as half of the duo Everything but the Girl, which first performed together in 1982. Watt released his first solo album in 1983 entitled North Marine Drive. It went to number 1 on the U.K. indie charts and included a cover of Bob Dylan's You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go. Everything but the Girl's early material was lite-jazz, but their major international breakthrough came in the dance music genre with Todd Terry's 1995 remix of the song Missing which originally appeared on the album Amplified Heart.

Twin Sister

There are at least two bands with the name Twin Sister: 1) Twin Sister is a band based in Long Island, New York. Andrea sings, Bryan plays the drums, Eric plays guitar, Gabe plays the bass, and Udbhav plays keyboard. http://twinsistermusic.com/ 2) Twin Sister was a rock/funk band based in the Portland, Oregon area in the 90's. Their lyrics quoted and referenced the Star Wars movie series and they often performed in concert in various Star Wars costumes.

Morgan Geist

This New Jersey native was initially inspired by England's take on the sound of Detroit, but eventually tracked techno back to its Motor City innovators. When he began listening to music, however, it was the sound of early-'80s synth heroes like Devo, Severed Heads and New Order alongside early hiphop, jazz and 60's Hindi film soundtracks. Geist released his first 12" (via Dan Curtin's innovative Metamorphic label) while studying at Oberlin College in 1994.

Dia Frampton

Dia Frampton (born October 2, 1987) is an American singer-songwriter from St. George, Utah, US and the lead singer of the band Meg & Dia, and the runner-up on the first season of The Voice as a member of Blake Shelton's team. Dia Frampton is half Korean and half Dutch. Dia received a karaoke machine as a Christmas gift when she was a child and began singing at local county fairs and retirement centers, whilst her sister Meg taught herself to play songs on the guitar. In 2004 the pair formed a band Meg & Dia that have since released 4 full-length albums and several EPs.
