The Limousines

The Limousines are an Electropop band based in the Bay Area, California. The band consists of songwriter and vocalist Eric Victorino, and multi-instrumentalist and producer Giovanni Giusti. The band has had comparisons drawn with MGMT. Victorino, who had previously performed with rock band Strata, stated that he was "tired of band politics" and "needed another outlet, one that wasn't quite as dark and heavy". Giusti and Victorino started the Limousines after communicating online and exchanged lyrics, music and recorded vocals online.

The Vanguards

http://thevanguardsuk.com/ see also http://www.last.fm/music/The+Vanguards+UK The Vanguards that I know are an English Indie band with great songs fronted by Twem. Within months of forming The Vanguards found themselves recording in The Charlatans studio with legendary production duo Dave Tolan and Jim Spencer (Primal Scream, The Charlatans) – the result is ‘Regress’ – a gritty blast of raw energy blended with a genuine pop melody, it’s a rock/pop hit in the making.

One Little Plane

A twist on the singer-songwriter tradition, One Little Plane is a musical epiphany straight from the unfaltering beat of one little heart -- the captivating Kathryn Bint. You may have first heard the beguiling voice of One Little Plane on the Four Tet remix of 'Melody Day,' the single from Caribou's latest album Andorra (2007). Originally from Chicago, Kathryn relocated to London in 2003, where she began recording in her flat with producer Kieran Hebden (Four Tet) in 2005.

One Happy Island

From their website: One Happy Island is an indiepop band from Boston with sloppy DIY tendencies. Chief exports include handclaps, ukulele strings, harmonicas, bittersweetly jangley ballads, furiously unfocused kazoo solos, and unashamed lo-fi recordings. It is the intention of Rebecca, Clint, Shannon, and Brad to take their songcraft and melodies to new levels of fun, fun, and fun. One Happy Island released their 2nd EP on January 15, 2008 with WeePOP! Records, titled Pulaski Park. It is now sold-out, but tracks are available for download at their myspace: http://myspace.

The Notes

The Notes are based in Southampton at the moment, studying at separate universities, the subjects being Popular Music and Record Production, and English. The band wrote and recorded these songs very recently in their living room using a drum machine, two guitars (1 pitch shifted), a voice and a pen. Tumblr blogger yvynyl has this to say about The Notes: "Take The XX’s slow, dark n’ sexy, turn up the tempo a notch, but keeps the lights low and the candles burning and you have London’s brand new band The Notes.
