Slowride

Born and bred in Dallas, Texas, the members of Slowride compose an infectious punk sound similar to the likes of Jawbreaker and Pennywise. They're also rockers with a sweet side, deriving catchy fun melodies. The band — which is composed of Dan Phillips (guitar/vocals), Rob Marchant (bass), and Steve Visneau (drums) — hooked up with famed indie producer Ed Rose (Appleseed Cast, Brandtson, Get Up Kids) to record some songs for their Deep Elm debut in late 2001. The fruit of those sessions was As I Survive the Suicide Bomber, issued in February 2002.

Frontier Ruckus

Though Matthew Milia is technically a native to the vast and vaguely defined expanse known as Metro Detroit, he has somehow mythologized a residence of his own creation—a singular and dusky world called Orion Town. Amid a map where towns blur into each other by the dozen, Milia's geography survives as a connection of psychic landmarks, containers of boundless amounts of obsessive memory. And the memory is not even all his own—it begins with the Detroit of his mother's childhood, as exhibited in "Rosemont.

The Pony Collaboration

"The Pony Collaboration sound like something you used to know, but. Theirs is a gentle Americana, sung shyly from behind the mask of a distorted mic (him) and confidently but softly (her) while the band rattle and wheeze corralled by tight drums that were never in the long-lost origins of the sound. You’ve heard this before, and you like it, but you just can’t quite remember" PLAN B MAGAZINE
