Heidi

Heidi could refer to: 1) a Danish singer and songwriter, know form the Danish edition of X-Factor. 2) an all girl rock band from Boston, Massachusetts that started in 1999 and dressed like a punk rock field hockey team. They released 2 demos before moving out to California to "make it big" and promptly broke up in 2002 having recorded a full-length album, but never released it. 3) heidi. (read haiji) is a visual-kei indie band that started activities with a few secret lives around Tokyo in early February 2006.

Judge Bone YouTube Judge Bone aka Tuomari Nurmio, though he is a new face to the world at large, in Finland he is a national figure highly respected by several generations. In Finland he’s been granted several musical and lyrical prizes and his gigs are attended by young rock people as well as by middle-aged blues, country and folk freaks. Not counting compilations, he has so far made 17 albums in Finland.

Oddarrang

Oddarrang is a Finnish experimental jazz ensemble founded by drummer/composer Olavi Louhivuori. Through their music, Oddarrang delivers a musical experience that isn't bound to any specific genre or category. The band melts together influences from jazz, classical music, world music and post-modern rock. The group's music has been compared to the cool but moving expression of Icelanders such as Björk and Sigur Rós.

Playground

There are four bands with the name "Playground": 1) There used to be a Finnish band named "Playground" that sadly quit in the late nineties. They released a demo tape near 2000. Their lead singer Marko "Mark" Saaresto is now the lead singer of Poets of the Fall. Playground had little commercial success but it is loved by thousands of dedicated fans of Marko's unique vocals and the music that in some parts lives on in POTF. 2) Playground is a French rock duo (Firouz Farman and Dino Trifunovic) that is best known for the disco-rock hit they released in 2003, called 1994.

Pansies

The Pansies were active between 1993 and 2000, during which they released four albums: Purple Red Indigo Blue (1994), Fancy The Pansies (1996), Feel Easy (1997), and Solace (1999). The Pansies enjoyed their biggest success in Japan, where they traveled twice for concerts. They also toured in Scandinavia and Germany. Barely There - the Best of The Pansies, a compilation of some of the best songs by these indie pop legends, was released in March 2006 by Poko Records.

The Wake

There have been at least 3 bands called The Wake, including a Scottish post-punk band, an American goth band and a Finnish death metal band. 1. The Wake were a Scottish post punk and later indie pop band, founded in Glasgow in 1981 by Gerard “Caesar” McInulty (formerly of Altered Images), Steven Allen and Joe Donnelly, who was later replaced by Bobby Gillespie. Steven’s sister Carolyn Allen soon joined, and remained in the band until its end.
