Cult of Luna are a Swedish Sludge/Post-Metal band formed in 1998 in Umeå, Sweden by guitarist/vocalist Johannes Persson and vocalist Klas Rydberg. After some member hunting and rehearsals CoL had its first line-up consisting of: Klas Rydberg, Johannes Persson, Magnus Lindberg, Erik Olofsson and Fredrik Renstrom. After a short period of time, Fredrik had to leave due to some personal difficulties.

Starting in 1989 and taking its name from the Crowbar group in NOLA (New Orleans), Kirk Windstein went on to pioneer slow and heavy music with a unique vocal style. Their first album, "Obedience Through Suffering" was released in 1991, but failed to achieve notoriety.
Eyehategod (also abbreviated and referred to as EHG) is an American sludge band from New Orleans, Louisiana who are known for their dark, sludgy riffs combined with equally dark lyrics. Like many sludge metal bands, Eyehategod draw on both stoner rock / doom metal influences as well as hardcore punk. Formed in 1988. Eyehategod have noted Melvins, Black Flag, Saint Vitus and Black Sabbath as key influences to their sound.
