U.K.-based producer Phil Klein releases Miami bass-inflected new school electro under his Bass Junkie aegis. Appearing most recently on the Breakin' Records label and on his own Parallax imprint, Klein's Bass Junkie material draws liberally from classics of electro-funk and bass music -- from Freestyle's "It's Automatic" and Unknown DJ's "808 Beats" to Maggotron's "Planet of Bass" -- combining truckloads of samples with crisp, uptempo rhythms and, naturally, the deepest of bone-rattling bass. Transparent Sound

Biography Transparent Sound has had various different members over the years, but is essentially a musical collaboration between Martin Brown and Orson Bramley, who met and started writing music together in their home town of Bognor Regis, UK back in 1994. Along with co-founder Steve Penfold they set about creating a very distinctive electro influenced sound. The first release on Transparent Sound Recordings, Meltdown Ride (or the yellow one as it has become known) came out the following year.

Freestyle

There is more than one artist with the name Freestyle: 1. One of the most prolific and influential of the '80s electro artists, Miami-based producer Tony Butler recorded a string of popular club tracks on Power/Jam Packed and his own Music Specialist label in the mid-'80s, helping build the electro legacy that would give birth to Miami-style bass music and freestyle (named after Butler's primary pseudonym), as well as influence '90s post-techno artists such as Autechre and Biochip C.

Captain Rock

In the early 80's underground electro/hip-hop artist (real name Ronnie Green) became CAPTAIN ROCK. Some of his Classic hits include "Captain Rock To the Future Shock", "House of Rock" and "Cosmic Blast". Captain Rock was produced by Aleem (Taharqa & Tunde-ra Aleem) on NIA. Allegedly, at he UK Fresh Fest in 1986, he was accused of stripping down to his thongs!
He was known as 'DJ Ronnie Green' the 'LIVE' DJ for Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde during their Harlem World Crew era.
