As said on their Myspace (myspace.com/PicturesExhibition): "We offer to the music world an odd mix of metal, symphonic, punk and gothic rock. As a band, we draw our influences from various sources to create the raw musical palette that is Pictures at an Exhibition. Originally a folk rock band (the first song being a rendition of "Scotland the Brave"), we have mutated through several line-up and genres changes (such as punk rock to symphonic metal), finally reuniting in late September of 2007, just in time to perform at the Burnt Toast Café, hosted at D'Arcy Mcgee High school."

Their big track was "King Kut" which is part of the long history of basing songs around how great your deejay is. The song features several recognizable samples and DJ Cheese definitely takes over the track. He won the World Mixing Championships in 1986. "Coast to Coast" was also a well known single. DJ Cheese was originally from West Virginia, but moved to Plainfield, New Jersey to perfect his deejay skills. He debuted on the Z-3 MC's only recording in 1985, produced by Duke Bootee. The Word of Mouth MC's were also from Elizabeth, New Jersey.
