VIP
There are at least 9 bands named "VIP". 1. VIP is a Finnish Christian speedmetal band. Their VIP has a double meaning. A) It stands for Very Important Person, who they say is Jesus Christ, and B) for Jesus, we all are Very Important People. (see their website or MySpace) 2. VIP is a Ghanaian "Hiplife" group, one of the pioneers of the Hiplife genre. In their case VIP stands for Vision In Progress.
The New Root
A new sound taking the UK apart at the molecular level. Debut album 'Talk Is Ending' - recorded at Toy Box Studios in Bristol - has just been released on Rapeseed Records and the band are embarking on full-time promotion of the album throughout 2010. Bristol's Venue Magazine described TNR as, "...purveyors of an extraordinary sound... the most exhilarating thing we've heard all week.. engagingly unique... a meld of soaring, volatile voice and fret-vaulting guitarwork."
Captain Kickarse and the Awesomes
Captain Kickarse and the Awesomes are an instrumental progressive psychedelic rock band based in Sydney, Australia. Founding members Phil McCourt (guitar) and Alex O'Toole (drums) met in high school and produced music with several collaborators under different names, including Felonius Funk, Suspicious Fishes, Oyster Moisture and Dr. Gonzo. In 2005 they were joined by Hugh Munro (bass) and a singer, and recorded an EP under the name Captain Kickarse and the Awesomes.

Kansas is a progressive rock band which formed in Topeka, Kansas, United States in 1970. The band is best known for their international hit singles "Carry On Wayward Son" and "Dust in the Wind". The band's classic lineup consisted of Steve Walsh (vocals, keyboards), Richard Williams (guitar), Kerry Livgren (guitar), Robby Steinhardt (violin, vocals), Dave Hope (bass) and Phil Ehart (drums). The band currently consists of Walsh, Ehart, Williams, Billy Greer (bass) and David Ragsdale (violin).

Self proclaimed "Prime-o-Pomp Canterbury Space Prog", North London's Prince of Pratts have arrived to take you on a journey in a flying tea pot to the land of 1971 from 500 years in the future... Taking influence from 2 main camps of progressive rock, Prince of Pratts fuse the jazz-pomp sounds of the Canterbury Scene (in particular Caravan, Khan and Egg) together with heavy Hawkwind/Gong inspired space rock.
Indica ritual
Indica Ritual are a five piece band from liverpool who make intricate and progressive pop music. Their style encompasses elements of avant/math rock and synth pop resulting in a brightly coloured and hyper-active vision of pop music Their first release was an ep, "Four blockheads go pop", at the beginning of 2006, with a single, "Tradeshow / Looking for Derek" in october 2007, both self-released. Last year saw Indica Ritual take to the stage with everyone from 2manydjs to Ponytail. An album is slated to appear in summer 2009.
