DMC could be both a Hip-Hop singer (1) and a well-known label (2). (1) Darryl "D.M.C." Matthews McDaniels (birth name Darryl Lovelace) b. 31 May 1964 in Harlem, Manhattan, New York, USA) is one of the pioneers of hip hop culture and founding members of the legendary hip hop group Run-D.M.C.. He went to St. John's University in New York City as he proudly proclaimed in Run-D.M.C.'s hit single "Sucker MC's."
Joseph "Run" Simmons or Rev Run was born on November 14, 1964 in Jamaica, Queens. He is best know as one third of rap legends Run-D.M.C.. Simmons began using Rev Run as a stage name after he was ordained as a reverend priest in Zoe Ministries. His first work as Rev Run was a feature in the single "Song For Lovers" by UK pop band Liberty X in September 2005. Later in 2005 "Distortion" Simmons' first solo album came out. The first single, Mind On The Road is featured in the EA Sports Madden NFL 2006 video game.
Liberty X were formed in 2001, after they were not chosen for the official 'Popstars' group, who later became Hear'Say. Michelle, Kevin, Tony, Kelly and Jessica were part of a brand new group called Liberty. Their first single 'Thinking It Over' cracked the UK Top 5, surprising fans and sceptics alike, who thought that Liberty was even going to struggle to obtain a Top 40 placing in the UK singles chart. A second single was quickly planned, which materialized into 'Doin' It'. 'Doin' It' did not chart as well as their debut, making a modest impact at #14.
