The Blackeyed Susans are an Australian band, formed in Perth in 1989, based in Melbourne since 1992. They were initially a "holiday band" put together by David McComb in 1989 while The Triffids were in hiatus. 1) Formed in Melbourne, Australia in 1988, after 20 years, The Fauves, continue to be one of Australia's most unique bands. Although sonically nondescript, Fauves' song are typically wry, ironic, hyper-literate, biopsies of the broadest range of topics. Comprised of four school friends: Andrew Dyer, Adam Newey, Andrew Cox and Phil Leonard, the Fauves emerged from one of Melbourne's grittier suburbs, Frankston only to find major label support early in their career.

The Gin Club

Forming in Brisbane in 2003, The Gin Club casually coagulated around a regular open mic night held in a Brisbane pub. Originally based on a fairly elastic lineup, the band has stabilized but it is still a large ensemble with seven songwriters. Winning one day of recording time through a cancer fundraiser at Brisbane club The Troubadour enabled The Gin Club to record their first album. Releasing the album through a label (Plus One) associated with one of Brisbane's main alternative record stores gave the band a reason to tour nationally...

Weddings Parties Anything

Weddings Parties Anything, often known as WPA and Weddoes, is an Australian folk rock band formed by Mick Thomas in Melbourne in 1985 and continuing until 1998. Their name came from a Clash song ("Revolution Rock") and musicologist Billy Pinnell described their first album as the best Australian rock debut since Skyhooks' Living in the '70s. WPA initially gained a reputation as a hot new band through their constant touring in their early days, however they never really became a commercial success.

It begins in the small Norwegian fishing town of Stavanger, as two members of The Bank Holidays spend their days playing badminton, enjoying fjords, and hanging out with Norwegian grandparents, all while listening to Norway's favourite musical sons Kings of Convenience. These factors result in a song, and the idea for a band whose primary occupation is vocal harmonies and melodies of the highest order.

The Devoted Few

The Devoted Few were an indie rock band from Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. They began as the side-project of Benjamin Fletcher, best known as a founding member of Sydney noise rock band, Bluebottle Kiss. Benjamin also plays in Sarah Blasko's backing band. The Devoted Few released three albums, Sleepless (2002), Billboard Noises (2004) and Baby, You're a Vampire (2009) and a remix EP - Schematic Tracks (2005). The band played their final show in Sydney in October 2010. Fletcher has since moved to the UK and is working on a solo album.

Boom Crash Opera

Boom Crash Opera are a pop-rock band formed in Melbourne, Australia in 1985. Initially based around the songwriting partnership of Richard Pleasance (Guitar/Bass/Vocals 1985 - 1992) and Peter Farnan (Guitar/Bass/Keys/Vocals) Boom Crash Opera also includes Dale Ryder (Lead Vocals), Peter Maslen (Drums), Greg 'Spock' O'Connor (Keys/Guitar) and Ian Tilley (Bass/Vocals 1992 - Present). Boom Crash Opera where quickly signed to WEA records Australia and in 1986 released their debut single 'Great Wall'.
